JOHN
Less than 1 percent of all attorneys in this country are Native American, yet Tribes are affected by federal laws more than most any other group of people. I chose to become an attorney because there are so few citizens going into the law. I recently finished a judicial internship on the Pokagon’s Tribal Court and plan to practice federal Indian law. Both of my parents are Native American, and my young son represents the next generation. It is for them that I choose to practice law. Everyone in our Tribal community needs someone who understands them. Through this profession, I’ll be able to give back to this community that I love.
I am John and I am Potawatomi.
